Waiting by the mailbox

Got my tracking number from Mimco AND got $50 in Mimcollective points! The Mimcollective reward system is actually one of the best ones I have come across. I was trying to be good and spend my reward points in the actual Mimco store instead of online, but there was pretty much nothing left instore. A total waste of my time, but I was good and didn't even peek in at the other sales at the shops. So I hoped online and found an awesome watch! Unfortunately I also had to pay the $9.95 shipping. It was $89 reduced from $179 (plus shipping). My New Years resolution of drinking less wine will help pay for the extra $$ needed to get the watch (it was $48 out of my pocket).

Stack it up

Loving the stacking bangles/watches look. Though I still actually love the cheap Lovisa watches I bought a few months ago, I was a lucky girl at Xmas and hubby bought me a Marc Jacobs watch. Found an awesome blog post about how to stack: http://dressmeblog.me/stack-it/.

The spending bucket is now empty

Me and the Summer Sales are through. I've spent all my money! Luckily I don't have a credit card so I can't be tempted any further. I am really loving the fashion at the moment. I picked up from the Sportsgirl sale three things that I had been wanting for ages. In fact it took all my will power not to buy the shirt and skirt at full price. Luckily I didn't because they went on sale and I got the shirt for $29.95, the skirt for $29.95 and the pants for $39.95. A savings of $100! The pants are really different for me, I hope I can pull them off....

Ice ice baby

I have a love hate relationship with the store Ice. It's so icky trashy (skanky) BUT they tend to have some good cheap pieces mixed in with the gross stuff. I am still loving bodysuits so I picked up a tiger one, a black lace skater skirt that I have been looking for ages for and two pair of shoes - altogether it was $61.

Bargains clothes - culling and adding twice as quick!

After getting in store bargains from Dotti,I had a look online while I was buying the previous posted boots. I also added to the order (since you have to pay for shipping at Dotti - argh), two bikinis for $10 each, a $5.95 dress that I bought because it was coral and I don't own anything that colour and well. It was $5.95! Also bought a tulip blue dress for $29.95 - both dresses reduced from $69.95 and bikinis from $29.95. Plus 20% off the total order on top of that yay!,

I recently sold a Dotti dress similar to the blue one on EBay for $16, so fingers crossed I can get a similar amount for that one when I sell it, loving my selling on EBay at the moment although some of my dresses are going pretty cheaply. But I am happy they are going to happy homes while they are still so new, after years of hoarding my clothes so they would be SO out of fashion before I decided that I really am not going to wear them again. I also then found a dress I wanted in Seduce for months, but it was $200 and there is no way I was paying that kind of money for a dress! So I stalked it in store and on line for ages with out ever seeing it in sale :-(. Then I saw it in eBay NWT and I won it for $81 including postage. So relieved, I love that dress! Hopefully I can resell it later for an okay price and refill my PayPal selling account :-).

Merry Xmas sales

This year I got some good stuff from Hubby for Xmas! And then I promptly got online and spent my entire sales allowance at Mimco. They had 50% off and I just couldn't resist, I fell in love with so much Mimco stuff but finally culled it down to four bags and a headband. That's right - FOUR bags! They were all such a good price and I really wanted each one for different reasons. I am so excited! I was seriously thinking about getting an expensive designer bag, but now I have got four different ones (and a headband lol) for $650. A saving of over $500!

I am absolutely excited to get my haul, I have been scouring EBay for another Mimco bucket bag and can hardly ever find a Mimco bag at a bargain price on there - in fact you can rarely get them cheaper than a Mimco sale price. Unfortunately it meant that I had pretty much spent ALL my sales spending allowance (will post later about how I spent the rest). Though I am glad about staying away from the shops for awhile - online as well as in store!

To boot or not to boot.

I really like the look of the Chloe Sussanah Boots:http://ashley-ringmybell.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/most-wanted.html?m=1#. There is no way, unless win a lottery jackpot, I can afford these shoes, like ever, they are $1,250!! I have been lemming them for ages, I have accepted the fact I cannot afford these and looked for alternatives. Zara had a good copy, but a little but still out of my budget - especially when I am not convinced 100% I can pull of these boots! Then I found a copy that Rubi shoes made, and the. I never found my size though I scoured the whole of Sydney! They were affordable at $60 as well, featured on this blog: http://heidihuxley.wordpress.com/2012/08/07/1-dress-1-pair-of-boots-6-different-outfits-3/. Then I find a pair at Zu for $180 that I both didn't love and were to expensive. Finally I found a pair from Dotti for $79.95, but there have been none in store at my local Dottis to try on! Finally Dotti had a 20% off online sale so I bit the bullet and decided to buy them. Fingers crossed they look ok and fit similar to the Chloe $1200 pair! I'm sure they will be plasticky and horrible compared to the Chloe soft leather, but if the look remains the same I will live with my poverty copy :-).

Yay for beautiful cheap hair

After having a whinge about leaving my make up bag behind, then having to spend $170 I stumbled upon an awesome shampoo/conditioner/treatment! My hair has not felt this soft for ages - not since my last treatment at the hairdressers. Best thing was, in was on special and cost $3.50. It was a bargain at full price, but that price is an absolute steal! It's the Pantene Clinicare one week trial pack. It comes with a tiny shampoo and conditioner and two intensive treatment packs. My hair seriously looks and feels like I have just been to the hairdressers, it is so soft and shiny! I'm totally in love with it. Not even with the expensive products have I ever been able to replicate salon soft hair. Rave.rave.rave. Bought from Coles!

Travel fail

$170 is what it costs to replace the basic things you need with cheaper versions when you leave your makeup bag home when you go on holidays! Luckily the small town we are in had a supermarket so I was able to get okay shampoo, conditioner, anti frizz hair cream, toothbrush, razor, bb cream, moisturizer, face wipes, self tanner, hairspray, mascara, contact lens solution and blush, arrgh. So annoying especially when I really wanted a new Stila blush in Peony and instead I had to buy a Maybelline blush in pink for $14.95. And Makeupalley only rated in 2.1 out of five.

I heart Summer sales

Xmas sales have started early! I feel very rewarded for not having gone on the shopping binge I was dying to earlier when things were full price! I'm loving so much at the moment. But I have been rewarded for my patience, picked up a yellow tube skirt for $9.95, two cute waist belts that were two for $10 and a playsuit that I had been DYING to buy and had been tempted to buy at full price. All bought for $50 and Saved $55! From Dotti :-). The playsuit I bought is actually one that was featured in Mia Freedman's column about being to old for play suits: http://www.mamamia.com.au/style/mia-whats-your-fashion-age/. Haha :-p, love it!

Smack my lips up (again!)

I really really wanted the Stila lip gloss Xmas set from Mecca Cosmetics. It's been out for a couple of months and it's been really hard not to blow my budget to buy it. It's $55 and you get eight mini lipglosses. Finally I had the funds to purchase and so I did! Merry Xmas me :-). So far I am loving every shade. I seriously need no more lipstick/gloss for a very long time though. One of my favourite things about buying new makeup is finding all the cool blogs that review my new stuff! Here is a good one:http://www.lipstickrules.com/2011/11/guest-post-stila-lip-glaze-set-–-christmas-comes-early.html.

All dressed up with no where to go

At the moment I have accumulated to many party dresses!  I have managed to offload quite a bit on Ebay and am still listing more.  Here is one the favourites that I have still yet to wear.

LIPPY LIPPY LIPPY

I have just realised that because I am not to happy with my fitness (read: don't like my muffin top in my clothes at the moment), I am focusing on my makeup shopping.  In the last week I have bought two lipstick, a mascara and a foundation.  This month makeup has been a HUGE haul for me, I haven't bought this much makeup/skincare since my last couple of months of pregnancy, when again, I couldn't buy clothes or shoes so stocked up my make up trays.  I bought two Revlon lip butters from Discount chemist warehouse for $18.  FOR BOTH because it was $18 each and it was also buy one get one free!!!!   BARGAIN.  And they also had Maybelline mascaras for $7 each so I grabbed the classic volume express mascara.  Though I didn't love the Revlon lip butters I bought when they first came out, I obviously picked the wrong colours because the two colours I got are awesome and the lipstick is lovely (like butter on your lips - but not greasy lol).  Here is a great bloggers review: http://thoughtsinlittleboxes.com/2012/04/04/peach-parfait-is-well-parfait-revlon-lip-butters-butter-me-up-again/

Last but not least is my new foundation.  I hardly ever buy foundation, I don't love heavy makeup and I find it hard and mostly wasteful buying new foundation.  But then I borrowed a friends foundation and was sold!  MAC studio Sculpt SPF 15:http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/itemid=114383.   Again I am being super lazy, and I find it hard to do reviews apart from 'I like it' lol - read this bloggers review:http://fashionaddict21.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/mac-studio-sculpt-spf-15-foundation.html.

Jennifer Hawkins

I love Jennifer Hawkins look.  Not just because she is stunningly gorgeous - but specifically I love her thick eyebrows and her wavy hair.  I have been going to the Benefit Brow Bar (in Myers) for a couple of years now and I think my eyebrows are pretty much perfect to how I want them.  Recently though I finally bought a brow pencil from Benefit Cosmetics  - which has definitely stepped them up to another level.  If you are thinking of buying from Benefit, I strongly recommend buying from the website instead of instore here in Australia as it is heaps cheaper (only if you buy enough to qualify for shipping discount).

I am still not great at trying to get Jennifer Hawkins wavy hair (remember my last post about my inability to really do any elaborate hair styles). I try with the sea salt spray and the try hard GHD curls (that fall out immediately)http://www.rescu.com.au/beauty/product-reviews/jennifer-hawkins-hair-how-to, but still no gorgeous wavy hair.  Must.try.harder.

A whole lot of bun

My hair is really thick so I have been wearing my hair in a top bun for years. But now it's such a popular hairstyle you can buy proper 'bun makers'. I thought I would give one a go to see if it looked better than my normal bun. I ended up getting one for $9.95 from Priceline thanks to this Blogger's tip :http://josiesjuice.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/scunci-bun-maker-easiest-way-to-create.html. I have come to the conclusion that a) I don't have the patience to make this as neat as it should be and b) my normal buns look just fine! Lol. I have never been one for elaborate hairstyles (still can't braid!).

Where is the time going!

I returned to work from maternity leave, so blogging didn't get much of a look in last week! I have been super good at not spending money on clothes and super bad at not wasting money on parking, coffees and lunches! Whoops, I forgot how expensive working can be lol. I am trying to declutter my wardrobe but it's not really happening. I sold one dress but bought two tops from Valleygirl, they were only $9.95 each and actually fit into my wardrobe quite well so am happy with that.

Summer!

I have been struggling with my Summer style. Shorts are wayyyyy to short in the stores and so are dresses! With a baby I need to bend down a lot, so that's not going to work lol. Inspired by: http://ramastarinreallife.blogspot.com.au/?m=1, I decided to give pencil skirts another go. They are a decent length at least! Sportsgirl have some great stuff at the moment and I was tempted to buy a lot more, but being on a tight budget I ended up buying this amazing bandage black skirt and cool necklace. Together were $79.95. So tempted to get more but will wait for sales :-).

On a makeup roll

I picked up the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner. I don't use liquid eyeliner so this is new for me! I don't really plan to use it to do any of the fancy things Ruby Rose has chosen to do with it lol: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/make-up/mascara-eye-liner/5-ways-with-mny-master-precise-liquid-eyeliner-9046. It has inspired to pull out all my old makeup books though and try out some new stuff.

Smack my Lips up

I finally found a lip gloss I LOVE!  I have thought about buying a MAC pro longwear lipgloss for ages, but all the reviews I have read of them have been a bit ho hum.  But I just got sick of having to always reapply lipgloss or lipstick, with a baby I just don't have time yet still ready need the pop of colour on my face!  So I bit the bullet and bought 'infinitely likeable' and luckily I love it since it cost $42!! What an outrageous price, but I do love it and it does seem to last quite a few hours.  Here is a more in-depth review by a blogger:http://www.polarbelle.com/2011/10/mac-pro-longwear-lipglass-infinitely.html.

Baby spam!

Sorry for the previous accidental baby post - that belonged on my other blog, whoops! Things are pretty quiet in my blogger space, I am a bit blogger fatigued! Here is a shirt I bought from Valleygirl for $14.95. I am loving the casual collar look with a bodysuit underneath. Still lemming a mannequin so I can do better photos! I just read an awfully good article in the latest Grazia magazine about how it takes six months to unpack your things when you move (two months in still a couple of boxes as well as still not finished decorating). And it takes 17mths to feel like your home is your home. I think our restless feet are finally getting tired of our wandering. Perhaps the next place will be our last for a while :-).

I must resist!

I am really trying hard to slow down on my clothing shopping. My wardrobe is super full its ridiculous. So I am committed to wearing everything in wardrobe and performing a cull before buying anymore major purchases. Dotti had 30% off and I grabbed a basic t-shirt as that's one thing I don't actually have much of. I also found the perfect iron board at Kmart for $10 - heaps cheaper than Etsy!

Style notes

We are in the midst of wonder week 46 and it is not fun. G has developed severe separation anxiety! To distract from yucky bits, I have revisited her room. Because we moved into a rental I can no longer use all the personalised wall stickers I had for her room. So I picked up some personalised wall letters that spell out her name. I also picked up some a ring stacker as G is really interested in them at the moment. Little rascal is also standing up against everything!

Make Me Up

I was a lucky girl and stumbled upon a Bobbi Brown pop up store while visiting the bright lights big city.  I got the concealer kit that I so desperately wanted but was afraid to purchase online and get the wrong colour!  It was good because they had make up artists there to help you, she put corrector as well on one side and just the concealer on the other.  The corrector looked terrible!  So I just got the concealer kit that was $60.  Here are the reviews on MakeupAlley: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=3223/Concealer_Kit/Bobbi_Brown/Concealers. It definitely does the job that I wanted to do!

Boriiinnng

Today's post is about my search for a new ironboard cover and plastic bag holder.  For real.  I would like to be about the new Forever New skirt I bought and the Princess Polly dress - but I did not buy them because I have no allowance left :-(.  So instead it is about home wear.  I have found some kitschy cool covers and holders on Etsy.  In fact if I purchase these items it will be the first purchase of Etsy that hasn't been for my Daughter, Etsy make awesome personalised baby things :-).http://www.etsy.com/shop/BarefootLake?section_id=6660055.
