Things I didn't buy today

$7.99 book about Tutankahmun, I just saw this exhibition at the Melbourne Museum and found this book at the store - even though it was only $7.99 I put it back and decided to check the library for it - bingo!  Saved myself $7.99.

$99 black bubblegum jeans from Dotti.  $99 is to much for a pair of Dotti jeans - the end.

Itunes cards  -  I want to download some music and apps, didn't buy but suspect I am just prolonging the expenditure.

Eyebrow wax from the Benefit Browbar - again only prolonging the expenditure for a fortnight, these babies are nearly caterpillers..or a caterpiller :-s

Clarins flash balm and Santal Oil - Clarins has a gift with purchase at the moment, but I cant afford and I can use what products I have left until the next GWP when I have the spare cash.

What I did buy...
Dotti Jacket that I have lusted after for over a month, started at $89.95 and been steadily marked down till today it was $39.95 Yay.

Camel lace/cotton stockings from Sportsgirl, this complys with my strategy to use my summer wardrobe to get through winter.  Unfortunately they were a bit exxy - $24.95.

my hair is on fire

okay, no it's not.  After seeing Drew Barrymore's rocking red locks: http://www.makeherup.com/2011/04/14/drew-barrymore-dyes-her-hair-red-what-do-you-think/, I was tempted to try the hue.  But after seeing Blake Lively's attempt - I am out!  This is exactly what I was was worried about, the red highlighting every ruddy shadow of my face/body - if Blake cannot rock it, I have no hope..http://www.primped.com.au/blogs/beauty-duty/blake-lively-falls-victim-to-red-headed-actress-syndrome. 

I will just have to remain in awe of the awesomess of miss Drew and seek to steal all her other looks.

I am addicted to apps.  I would go to Appaholics Anonymous but I am actually out and proud. My basic Fav Apps (so far):

Solitaire
The ultimate addictive card game.  I have this set on casino and I am rack up the debt on it, currently I owe the casino alot!!

Glamour
This is the US magazine Glamour App.  It is like a mini blog and updates every day to bring tiny little awesome news items about beauty, fashion, life and health etc.  LOVE IT.

Facebook
Bookface, need I say more.

Weather
I have more than one weather app :-S.  I need to know what temp it is, what it feels like, what the radar looks like, what the wind looks like - all the time.

I have about a billion apps that I have bundled into the little folders.  I really heart Sally's Salon, Jane's Hotel and Farm Frenzy but havent really got into the Ada apps.... more girl apps needed!!

a lost my heart in Ikea

We are in a funny place in our lives at the moment, where we move alot - renting, but we still own a house that we are hoping to move back into and finish renovating.  So we try not to commit to furniture, and when we do we always keep in mind how that piece fits into the house that we own.  Long story short, we bought a renovator, we lived in it for six months and moved away and continued renting.  So after years of buying renovator magazines and rarely getting to use any of that inspiration it looks like this year we may move back into it.

So after visiting the Sydney Royal Easter Show recently, we decided to pop into the nearby Ikea before heading home.  Big mistake, I now want to marry Ikea (awkward since I am already married), I am also stalking the website - they have a shopping list component (such evil)..http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/InterestItemDisplay?storeId=18&langId=-26.  I feel guilty looking at the website, like its furniture porn and I am finally going to use up the years of pent up interior designer angst and unleash it against the world!

life in a nutshell, how did I get in this nutshell?

I dislike the cold but I love winter fashion. And it is going to be a cold winter as I am committed to frugality (less a commitment then a mandated order).  Here is my game plan - tights and socks. I have always rocked the tights and socks look, but this year I am ramping it up to be a colourfest.

Where to buy cheap coloured tights?  Dj and Myers have sales all the time on tights, limited options although I picked up a zipper footless pair (zipper may have not been the best idea for winter) and a red cable knit pair for $12 each.  Sportsgirl - more stockings this year, being a klutz I lucky to get stockings to last one wear...Forever New tights are to short for me...I will have to search harder...

I did pick up some $6.95 light sweaters from SES to pop over corporate shirts for work and can wear them layered on the weekend as well. Yay for frugality (repeat until convinced!).
