So scared of Winter

I am so scared of Winter that I am STILL collecting Winter coats even though its a few months away still.  Latest purchases were both $74 with an extra 10% off, there are more in my bag..but not many left ;-).

Storage solutions and it's a frogs life

I bought these drawers to now host my huge collection of bangles, watches, bracelets etc. I already have two of these that house my makeup/skin care/hair care and headbands/ponytail holders/brushes. I have hanging storage holders for my necklaces and a mini set of storage drawers for earrings and rings. After the massive Lovisa hauls I did over Xmas/new year (and I didn't even buy half of what I wanted- soooo many bargains!), I had to expand my storage options!

I love this frog pic - i have posted it on my work cubicle wall. Some days I just wish I could kick back and relax like this frog.

So quickly a squirrel stores to many nuts

ARGH.  I have now got to many jeans (wait can you have to many jeans??). It happens so quickly, what took me over the edge into the 'to many jeans' was my order from Iconic. I decided that I had room for one more pair of dark jeans with spots and they were on sale for $34 from Iconic. But then I Couldn't decide what they looked like from the website, and returns are free - so I bought both. I was pretty confident of only keeping one pair but then they both looked so good and so different, the olive really pops in true life. So I'm keeping both, since they were only $34 each. I think I have saved that much this week in not paying for work coffees/lunches/parking. And because of my new diet I have saved money not buying wine and munches ;-). Love love Gwen Stefani in dotty jeans.

Lust have it - beauty box

I have been wanting to try 'beauty boxes' for a while.  There are a couple of subscription services where you pay about $14.95 for a month to get a box delivered to you of beauty samples.  There is no 'lock in' period that you have to sign up for which is awesome.  After alot of research I decided to subscribe to Lust Have It for a one month trial to see if I liked it.  My box just arrived and I am super excited!!  In my box is:

  • Lush Cosmetics Emotional Brilliance Makeup -Unfortunately they sent me the darkest colour lip colour out of the selection and I look like a goth with it on
  • Nude by Nature BB 5 in 1 Miracle cream - I love BB cream and this is a normal size tube of BB cream, not a sample.
  • Kabuki Brush - I have always wanted to try a Kabuki Brush so am really happy with this
  • Klorane Shampoo and Conditioner - these are just sachets, but enough for a wash to see if I like Klorane - I cant see myself being convinced enough to switch my shampoo and conditioner to Klorane but at least I get to test it without purchasing!
  • Avene Clearance Skin Range - cleanser, exfoliate an moisturizer. Great little tester bottles.
At this point I am really happy I decided to try this subscription service :-).

Still squirreling away

Another pair of jeans squirreled away for Winter! I have been looking for a yellow pair for ages and finally found the perfect pair at Myers. Only $20 reduces from $60! Perfect fit and beautiful soft material. I'm thinking another pair of polka dot jeans and we are done with the jean squirreling for Winter. Still loving the stacked bracelet and watch look.

Nailing pretty nails

While I am okay at doing my own nails, they tend to chip after a few days which drives me nuts! And I just don't have time to do my nails that often. I also love the gel look and am keen to save money and try some DIY options. Both Sally Hansen and Orly are bringing out options. Here is the Orly review done by Primped:http://primped.ninemsn.com.au/blogs/blush-hour/diy-gel-manicur-we-road-test-new-orly-smartgels-system. I am unsure about the initial outlay. Bellasugar also gave it a good review:http://www.bellasugar.com.au/DIY-Manicure-Product-Review-Orly-Smart-Gels-System-Gel-Nails-Home-24683143?slide=11&_nz=80. But I think while I'm saving my money and thinking about the Orly Gel system, I might try Sally Hansens salon manicure instead:http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hands/nail-care-treatments/27530-sally-hansen-complete-salon-manicure. http://www.sarahassansblog.com/2011/04/notd-frutti-petutie-sally-hansen.html?m=1.

Not the total Carrie Bradshaw experience!

So turns out that Carrie's 'stoop' is no longer included in the Sex and the City tour. This being the whole reason I wanted to go on the tour, I was a bit miffed. Apparently the people who live there have had enough of the tourists. After reading this article, i guess its fair enough: http://www.thevillager.com/villager_273/sexandcitytour.html. But I double checked the tour http://m.onlocationtours.com/sex-and-the-city-hotspots/
I still definitely want to go! So exciting :-). *runs off to watch SatC tv show repeats

Mimco, its you not me

Mimco watch original price $179 -after all discounts $50.  This watch is cheap non leather watch branded Mimco.  Seriously bad quality and not worth $50.

Mimco, my love - I think its time to break up.  Time to find a new bag designer to fall in love - Marc Jacobs, will you be the one??
This bag is a beautiful colour and looks great.  I love it, but its hard plastic and doesn't have a luxurious feel.

This bag not only looks amazing but has a luxurious feel, unfortunately the suede on top has already been damaged in the few times I have worn it :-(.  I am taking it to a drycleaner to try and salvage it.  I will never, ever buy anything suede again.

This bag was original $400 and I still paid $220 for it.  Its a cute little bag, perfect for work.  It has no luxurious feel about it and has a hard plastic feel.  Not happy with the quality vs price on this one.

Not being crafty

So turns out making your own pin board is a little bit hard when your not a crafty person. Luckily I found this one at Masters, and while it wasn't what I originally envisioned this one goes quite well with our decor. Plus it was $30 and no effort on my part ;-). I also picked up these work pants from ASOS for $40 as I desperate need work pants. Luckily my EBay sales paid for them :-).

2nd Winter coat for Summer...

Can you tell I am in a panic already about Winter even though we are still in the middle of Summer!  I went through my Winter vacuum bags, and only two coats were in a decent condition - in fact one is a winter jacket not a coat.  But luckily I was able to add one more to my Winter collection, this coat was only $35 from ASOS!! I am looking forward to seeing what kind of quality it is.

Presents!

I was a lucky girl and scored new perfume off my Hubby. It wouldn't of been one I would of chosen, but it's actually really nice! Also still Lemming the Black Milk resurrection skirt - pictured is my BM tights version.

Shiny things

I know I know. I said I wouldn't go into Lovisa again, but then I saw a bracelet on a blog I really liked. So I thought I would just pop on for a look... Turns out they are
Really trying to get rid of their older stock and now everything is like $3. Got all this for $20 and bought this coffee travel cup from Typo for $14.95.

Two seasons in one shopping bag

I really want seven coats from ASOS. Since for at least 6mths of the year i won't be taking my coat off, I think seven is a justifiable amount. My bank balance disagrees! This week I decided I could afford one so I choose the one I loved the most at $54. I also added a bikini that I bought last year, but which ASOS sent me the wrong size and then was sold out. I SO don't need another bikini but it was $20 and I still loved it as much as when I first bought it....perhaps it will be an incentive to get fitter! I also add some tights so the final purchase was $98.

Like a squirrel preparing for Winter

But instead of nuts I am collecting jeans for winter.  I have never been a jeans person, I always thought it was a bit of a boring choice.  But having now committed to yet again live in the coldest place in Australia (not Tasmania lol), I am determined to stay warm this Winter.  Having a baby limits my wardrobe choices sometimes, not in terms of what I can wear, but in terms of I don't have an hour to choose what to wear any more!  So I thought I would stock up on jeans (and jeggings) for Winter.  Easy and quick choices. Finally found some floral and polka dot jeans I can live with - all together $83 online from Cotton On.  I didn't have time to try in store before I bought them, so fingers crossed they are a good fit!!

Don't jeggings judge me :-p

I love jeggings! The old school jeggings were terrible, but most of the time these days it's hard to tell the difference between jeggings and skinny jeans. I find jeggings really comfortable so was excited to find these cool bird jeggings on Iconic for $49.95 free shipping. Not that I was looking for bird jeans... But they look and feel great! I also love the mango colour version.

Getting Crafty

Because my budget doesn't allow to buy the pinboard I want of Etsy, I have decided to get crafty and try and make my own.  This craft blog has a pretty good tutorial about how to make your own pinboard: http://www.craftedblog.com/2011/03/how-to-pin-board-frame.html.  I think I will go to the cheap bargain shops to see if they have an big frames and maybe next weekend try and do my pinboard!

Sex and the City

Just booked my Sex and the City tour for my NY trip! SO excited :-) :-). Hubby will hang out with the baby for half a day while I check out all the places from the tv show. Obviously would be heaps better to be doing the tour with a girlfriend but still going to be fun.

Can I just buy Lovisa? And Pinning

Lovisa still have massive sales in store. As an addicted bowerbird, I am finding it very hard not to buy the whole store - I love everything and its SO cheap. But I have so many accessories and I have no money lol. I bought two more things and I am now committed to not even going in anymore. Earrings were $3 and bracelet $5. You know you have an accessory addiction when you have to buy a huge storage drawer system to house not even all of it! I love Pinterest, here were a few of my pins today :-).
