Whip your hair back and forth

Since my pregnancy my hair has been so health and luscious. It's grown longer than before without getting split ends and it's really thick. However now bub is four months old my hair has started moulting. There is hair everywhere! I don't want to cut it though as I love it (even though it's such a pain). But I am looking for a new colour.

Currently I get half a head of foils, so the top is light brown/dark blond and the bottom is my natural dark brown color. Recently my hair has had a bit to much yellow in it and my hairdresser has now left so I think it's time to find a new hair Colour and a new hairdresser! I love Jennifer Hawkins and Delta Goodrems hair, their length and Colour is very similar to what I have already. I prefer Jennifer's though as Delta's is a touch to yellow for me. I would also like a fringe. Here is the dilemma: I don't suit fringes! My hair is a bit to thick and my face is a bit to round and my nose is a bit to not petit for a fringe. I love Nicole Ritchie's hair no matter what she does with it and she can really rock a fringe as well.

Spending ban fail (a popular post title)

I should be really buckling down with the spending. And I had been doing okay until this week, where I have had a complete blow out! First was the impulse buy of the Revlon lipbutters, then I spotted this awesome red dress from Lucy in the Sky: http://www.lucyinthesky.com/. It was $45 with free express shipping. I really wanted a nice going out dress. This has a bit more to do with the fact I had a baby and my body bounced back(genetics, breastfeeding and luck) and I'm keen to put bub to bed then head out for a night out with the girls wearing a pretty dress out for some drinks and dancing. This is THE dress :-). I also spent $38 at ASOS on a skater dress that I have wanted for ages, a Cath Kidstone key fob (so I can stick my hand into a bag full of baby stuff and find my keys quickly) and a Cath Kidstone shopper bag (to chuck more baby stuff into lol). Sigh, not exactly a huge blowout but I would really like to not want stuff! P.s I don't regret any of my awesome purchases ;-)

Music makes the iTunes $$$

'arrrgh' could be the alternative title to this post. Seriously, wtf is Apple's damage (Heathers quote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heathers). Their albums to buy electronically cost only slightly less then to buy instore! Considering the cost it is to manufacture cd cases, inserts, discs, warehouse storage, shipping, store rental and staff wages vs an electronic download - its just disgraceful! It was actually cheaper for me to buy a cd from JB Hi-Fi and get it shipped to me then to buy it from iTunes. And that was factoring in that I buy iTunes gift vouchers on sale and usually save about 20% off them. One of the main reasons I buy music from ITunes is to save on clutter, but I've had enough and am going to start buying my music locally again. Bah, I'm seriously starting to get the ***** with Apple in general - I want to watch things that only play on Adobe flash player!!!

Rant over, I bought Nikki Minaj's new album and the latest Electro House Sessions, loved both albums :-) yay. But me and the ITunes store are over baby.

Got Lippy?

My three year old niece often asks me 'got Lippy?'. Even at three, a girl is already hooked on getting new lipsticks! I have a billion lipsticks/glosses, okay not a billion - but pretty close. I already bought new lippys recently and was happy with the purchases plus scored some nice ones in my Estée Lauder gift with purchases, so I really really did not need any new ones...at all...have I mentioned I am in a spending ban? Sooo recently I was in Priceline and saw that they were having a buy one get one free (bogof) for Revlon. And then I spotted the Revlon lip butters:http://www.revlon.com/Revlon-Home/Products/Lips/Lipcolor/Revlon-ColorBurst-Lip-Butter.aspx. They had heaps of colors and I really should of done some research before making my choices but I guess that's why they call impulse buys, well impulse. I ended up choosing Peach Parfait: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=149653/ColorBurst-Lip-Butter-in-Peach-Parfait/Revlon/Lips and Berry Smoothie:http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=149340/Colorburst-Lip-Butter---Berry-Smoothie/Revlon/Lipstick. They were $21 each, but of course I got them as bogof. They definitely feel smooth and like a balm, the colors may not have been the best choice for me but they are okay and that's my own fault for buying them on impulse. At the end of the day, in my opinion, they are not worth twenty bucks each. Plus I really like Clinique chubby stick and Estée Lauder lipsticks so I won't be buying the lip butters again although I would recommend them :-). Though I may be going through lipsticks quicker than usual as I made the mistake over Summer in rolling up the lipstick to far in one of my MAC lipsticks and it broke off, and in another one I left it in my car and it melted - proper melted :-(.

Nailing the art of nails

I have spent a whole lifetime perfecting the fine art of doing my own nails. It's only in the last couple of years I have finally got the hang of it and can do an ok job. I have never been into fake nails or nail art, but recently stumbled upon Sally Hansen nail art strips: http://sallyhansen.com/products/nails/nail-color/salon-effects-real-nail-polish-strips, which were on sale for $11 at Priceline, so I thought why not have a go at trying these out :-). I bought the three packs from the limited edition Easter range: chirpy chicks, pink polka dots and plain pink. I put the chirpy chicks nails on for Easter, they were alot easier to put on then I thought they would be and I nailed (lol) them all first try. Basically you nail polish remove your nails to prep them, push your cuticles back with the cuticle stick provided, place the sticker on your nail and file the edges so it's smooth. While the packs are good if your on holidays etc and don't have access to a cuticle and file, it does seem a bit wasteful having them in every pack. I would imagine it would be alot cheaper if they just sold the stickers alone. At first I didn't really like the look of the nail art, I thought it was a bit tacky (even though it looked really good). But then it grew on me! I still think that the chirpy chicks print wasn't the best print so am keen to try the others. I also picked up two more prints, although I really want to try one of the full on glitter prints. When looking for pics online of the nail art I found heaps of great beauty blogs including reviews on Primped:http://primped.ninemsn.com.au/products-reviews/vip-review-club/hands-nails-vip-review-club/sally-hansen-salon-effects-nail-polish-strips and http://www.cosmeticcupcake.com/2012/04/easter-nails-sally-hansen-easter-salon.html. At at least $11 a pop it's a bit of an expensive hobby for me to pick up when I am on a serious spend ban but its also a cheap way to feel a bit cheerier :-). I also found on a beauty blog a cool way to wear the nail art by painting nails normally then cutting out things like love hearts in the glitter stickers and pasting them on. Unfortunately I didn't take not in what beauty blog I saw this so can't post a link.

Things I won't be buying and management issues

I won't be buying them, because I am officially unsubscribed!! I have unsubscribed from all emails from retailers and from Facebook page likes of retailers. This was super hard, but necessary as I found myself justifying buying sale items while on the websites to unsubscribe - eep! Like most people I would prefer to increase my income rather than decrease my spending, but that's not going to happen ( unless I win the lotto - fingers crossed LOL). Wish me luck in saving money!

I love this recent article in Glamour uk about being a manager. I have always struggled with being a manager, I'm just to nice. This article gives me a little bit more confidence in knowing how to approach being a manager without being an A-hole.

And last purchase before I embarked on my no spend (I'm serious this time, no really...), another pair of Supre jeggings this time in the color of ruby. I just heart these jeggings they are SO comfy!
